After the story that has been in the news today regarding a bogus nurse treating clients with fillers and botulinum toxin….
Misleading the public by pretending to be a nurse or doctor is a criminal offence. Bogus qualifications can result in serious problems to the unsuspecting public when receiving a cosmetic treatment.
The British Association of Cosmetic Nurses (BACN) say “All BACN members have their credentials checked against the regulatory register, the NMC, GMC or GDC.
BACN nurse, doctor and dentist members are registered and regulated. We do not allow non medically qualified practitioners onto the BACN register. We urge everyone considering a medical cosmetic treatment to check first by going to the BACN website to see if their practitioner is a qualified registered medical professional”
Anna-Marie Lewis is a registered nurse and prescriber and registered with the NMC. She is also a member of the BACN and the RCN.
